Dog & Cat Ultrasound Scanning
Our ultrasound scanning service is administered by Caroline Torode as part of our Paw Prints Pet Services. Her training was specifically targeted towards detecting pregnancy, with pregnancy scans ideally being performed around 28 days following the second mating.
Ultrasound scans are widely used in both the veterinary and medical fields as a diagnostic aid.
They are very safe, using sound waves as opposed to X-rays which use radiation. The sound waves are inaudible to the human ear, but are reflected by bone, organs and fluids within the body to form a picture.

Our Service
Our Ultrasound Scanning service includes:
An appointment at the Cattery (often faster) or your home.
Chat with you and your dog so she’s relaxed and comfortable
Performing an abdominal scan with you there to watch
Letting you know if she’s pregnant.
Photos of the scan, where possible
Pricing
Each ultrasound scan session costs £55, plus a callout fee for home visits (£25 minimum, depending on location).
Photos are a bonus if we’re able to get them!
Although we’re happy to offer mobile scanning, in practice, most people bring their pets to us. Waiting times are often shorter, results are better and easier to obtain, and there are no extra costs.
